NJSCERA Holds 2015 Strategic Planning Meeting

The New Jersey School Choice and Education Reform Alliance held a very successful and energized 2015 Strategic Planning Meeting on December 16, 2014 in East Brunswick.
The meeting was moderated by Former Congressman and NJSCERA Director Dick Zimmer and was attended by key supporters including representatives from the New Jersey Charter Schools Association, the New Jersey Interdistrict School Choice Association, The New Jersey Family Policy Council, Choice Media and several New Jersey Jewish and Catholic organizations.
Senator Tom Kean, Jr., Senate Minority Leader, and Chris Emigholz, Budget & Education Director for the NJ Senate Republican Office, spoke and fielded questions on school choice and education reform topics and Josh Pruzansky (Orthodox Union Advocacy Center) Valarie Smith(NJ Interdistrict School Choice Association) and Donna Siminski (New Jersey Charter Schools Association) led discussions on 2015 policy goals and strategies.
Bob Bowdon provided an overview of the successful Philly School Choice Media campaign as a possible template for a New Jersey school choice media campaign, Steve Looney, NJSCERA Treasurer, provided background on funding and Alliance participation goals and Pete Denton, founder of E3, closed the meeting underlining the encouraging results for 2014 and 2015 momentum to building an even larger “army” of supporters to promote school choice and education reform initiatives in Trenton and across the State.
